CURIOSITY as MOTIVATION

Although I was kindof late starting violin(12) the focus that led me to surpass my first teachers' somewhat alcoholic expectations basically came from contact with other young peer group violinists at summer camps. The sheer delight of their openness to introducing me to the meaning of the word "technique",was far more conducive to improvement. The sheer fact that many teachers cannot tune in to their students' learning patterns did not stop me from delving quite prematurely into Flesches' Scale System, spiccato and sautillè bowings.Often I would get up at 6am to practise at school.3 to 6 or even 8 hours per day helped me catch up with those of my peers who had started when they were 5 years old.It was only much later, after the four years with Jurgen Hess, and during professional life(whatever that should mean)that I let the full sway of my postgraduate 4.5 years with Philip Hirshorn complete a more effortless and rounded shape to my approach. It is for this reason that I so began my Sofia Muziekschool-"Kinesthetics".I also have begun giving lessons live over the internet;so if you like email me :-
